  • Observing the facial expressions of the players throughout the rallies
rather than the back of their heads is fascinating.
  • Watch Power hold his shot to draw his opponent forward then see the

Featuring Jonathon Power vs Peter Nicol!

Unquestionably the best 2 players in the world throughout the late 90s and early 2000, Power and Nicol meet once again in one of their most extraordinary Final yet. Nicol was up one on Power in their head-to head career encounters, a win here would give him a 17-15 lead going into the upcoming World Open Championship in Antwerp, a tie would make it a dead even 16 a piece. Playing in front of his home crowd Power seemed invincible, well at least until the slip, the ankle twist and the roll... Drama in the making... was it real or an act? The referee’s call for injury time off was questioned but held. Nicol, recovering himself from an ankle injury suffered the previous week, waited patiently. To everyone’s surprise Power walked on court 45 minutes later as if nothing ever happened. Mind over matter surely, Nicol would have to do much of the same to block his own pain. The match resumed and so did the fiercest battle ever, De Lierre was there behind the one-eyed monster to capture every point and the drama you will not want to miss.
